On the first flush, you can expect to yield between 500g and 900g. Depending on the specific species, there may be 2-4 flushes in total.

Frequently asked questions
How many mushrooms will it grow?
What Is a "flush"?
A "flush" in mushroom cultivation is each crop or harvest of mushrooms. Depending on species, they usually appear once every 7-14 days.
What to do with your kit once its finished?
Remove your block from the plastic packaging and bury your block in the garden and cover with mulch or soil - this will encourage them to flush again! OR break it up and use as mulch.
Why did my mushrooms stop growing?
When there isn't enough humidity around the block, mushroom pins usually stop growing. Don't be alarmed!
Your mushroom kit is still alive and can fruit. Simply remove the dried-up pins (mushrooms) and leave the block to rest for a week. After that, soak the block in cold water for 20 minutes, remove all the water from the bag, and begin again.
What to do with a cracked/broken kit?
If your shipped fruiting block kit cracks or crumbles during transit, follow these steps:
1. Remove the kit from the shipping box and create air space by unfolding the top of the bag. Do not open the bag.
2. Check that the filter patch is unobstructed to ensure proper breathing for the organism.
3. Place the bag in a dark area at room temperature (15-21 degrees Celsius) and avoid moving it.
4. Allow the mycelium to recover and regrow undisturbed for up to 10 days.
5. Once you see good mycelium re-growth or mushroom pins, your kit is ready for growth.
6. Follow the growing instructions specific to your mushroom species.
Can I keep the kit for a few months before using it?
The kits are designed to be used immediatly. However, you can open the box and store the fruiting block in the fridge for upto 6 months. (Do not store Pink Oyster in the fridge, they will die!)
How to harvest my mushrooms?
When your mushrooms are ready, gently twist them off the block close to the surface. Be careful not to damage the mycelium or surrounding area. Remove any left of bits to prevent contamination.
How to tell your kit is contaminated?
The substance on your sawdust block is likely mycelium, not mold. It's normal and healthy. Different mushroom species have varying mycelium thickness and colour. Send a photo if unsure. Black, green, or orange patches could indicate mold due to shipping damage.

Mushrooms are growing inside the bag?
This is normal and quite common with Lion's Mane. For mushrooms growing inside your bag, it's fine to disregard them. However, if they are easy to reach, feel free to remove them by breaking them off and adding them to your compost.
